The R. Bruce Kershner Company has been approved by the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) as a continuing education provider since 2004. He was the first continuing education provider approved for a classroom instructor-led course for contractors who receive as part of their discipline or for new or additional business entity licensure to attend a seven (7) hour live classroom course with emphasis on laws and rules (Chapter 489, F.S.).

The company also  provides a Financial Management class for contractors who receive as part of their discipline or for new or additional business entity licensure to attend a seven (7) hour live classroom course

Any person who holds a certified or registered license issued by the CILB must, as a condition of each renewal of the certificate or registration, obtain at least 14 hours of continuing education in one or more courses from a continuing education provider approved by the board. Of the 14 hours, the licenseholder must have one hour in the following topics:
  • Workplace safety
  • Business practices
  • Workers' compensation
  • Advanced building code module
  • Laws & rules (regulating the construction industry)
  • Wind mitigation (This requirement only affects general, residential, building, roofing and glass and glazing contractors.)
R. Bruce Kershner holds a State Certified Underground Utility & Excavation Contractor license and  State Certified Residential Contractor license.

Mr. Kershner regularly attends CILB meetings and assists contractors with licensing requirements.
